Spotify has launched a first beta version of the Group session feature, which allows premium subscribers to listen to the same songs, playlists, and podcasts as other premium subscribers around the world.

The Spotify group session is specially designed for users who want to make virtual contacts with your friends and family. With this group session, any Spotify premium user can create a link that can be shared with up to five friends or family members who also need to have Spotify Premium, so the entire group can listen to the same playlists and podcasts on their devices at the same time.

How to Start a Spotify Group Session?

Group sessions are accessed by premium subscribers to the Spotify mobile app for phones and tablets. As the group session is still in beta version, meaning it is in the testing phase and Spotify has warned that its functionality may change. To organize a session, select the Connect menu. You can then start a session that generates a sharing link that can be sent via social networks or other applications.

1. Open Spotify and play something

2. Tap the Connect button at the bottom of the screen

3. Under Start a group session, tap Connect

4. Tap Invite Friends

5. Here you can:

- Share with any social or messaging app

- Select the Copy link to send it as you wish

- Show them a Spotify code that they can scan to join

What Listeners can do in a Spotify Group Session?

Guest listeners can choose which songs, playlists, and podcasts they want to listen on their device or on other devices and control it from their device. In addition, anyone in the streaming group can pause, play, skip, select, or add tracks to the queue.
